Mix completed

Yesterday, the final mix of This Sect's next EP "Distress Signals" was completed with producer Gunnar Kjellsby at the controls. We have to admit we're very excited about the sound of this new recording! The EP will be mastered at Strype Audio in two weeks.

"Distress Signals" is scheduled for release in February 2007.

And by the way, we ended up with a heavy bronze medal around our necks in the Death Match Finale.

The 2nd collection of Karstein Volle's comicstrip Fakta fra verden (Facts from the world) is being released (by Jippi Comics). This Sect and Nazca (FIN) are playing at the party, like we did the last time, and hopefully the next time. We're getting paid with comic books and beer. Suits us fine. I mean, what else is there?

If you like overtly detailed factoids that are basically really funny lies, then you'll like Fakta fra verden. It's actually more of a truth serum than a comic book. If you like The Swans and the weird melancholy gloom that seemingly surrounds all of Finland, then you'll like Nazca. If you like David Koresh and Charles Darwin, then you'll like This Sect. Waldemar Hepstein takes cover

The legendary underground cartoonist/illustrator "Uncle" Waldemar Hepstein has picked up his long lost pen to make the cover art for This Sect's upcoming EP, "Distress Signals".

In collusion with prominent Sect members, Hepstein has created a magnificently dark and disturbing concept. The perfect visualization of This Sect's music and Gorak's lyrics.

Mr. Hepstein has been an avid Sect fan since the band's stumbling first steps in 2003. Hepstein himself has played organ in Jokke & Valentinerne and made the beautiful ballad "Nei, heng fru Hitler i et badekar" (roughly translated to "No, hang Mrs. Hitler in a bathtub").

Death Match Grind Finale

This Sect unexpectedly won yesterdays Death Match semifinale. The grand finale will be held at Club Maiden on Wednesday November 8th. This Sect will engage in fistycuffs against metallers Misery Conduct, Dead Man's Hand and Serenity Trace.
